Free family event showcases the great work carried out by community organisations who make Rhondda Cynon Taff a very special place to live
Interlink RCT is putting the final touches to Festivol, its first ever free outdoor celebration of volunteering, on Saturday, June 6, at Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd, between 10.45am and 3pm.
The family orientated event will showcase the amazing breadth of locally based charities and voluntary groups in Rhondda Cynon Taff, with 34 of Interlink’s member organisations and partners exhibiting on the day.Festivol will also feature a children’s playground with go-karts, toy carousel and cup and saucer rides, not to mention balloons and sweets.
Interactive activities will include forest school skills, a football inflatable and freshwater invertebrates and entertainment will be provided by the Hirwaun Drum Majors, Cor Meibion Morlais and Rowan Tree Cancer Care’s fashion show. Ysgol y Pant and Rock Academy Wales will also be putting on live music in the Unplugged tent throughout the day.
Interlink’s annual volunteer award ceremony will take place in the main marquee between 2pm and 3pm.
Security wristbands will be available for children, and snowcones, candyfloss, donuts, burgers and crepes will be available on site.
