Drink Wise, Age Well: Alcohol Awareness Week 2017 – Alcohol and families.
Alcohol Awareness Week (13th – 19th November) is an opportunity to start a conversation around problematic alcohol use and might help break the cycle of silence and stigma that is often experienced by families. Drink Wise, Age Well recognise that it can be difficult for loved ones to spot the signs of problem drinking and to cope with the consequences. We provide practical and emotional support to those concerned about a 50+ loved one’s drinking.
We are opening our doors on Tuesday 14th and Friday 17th November from 11am – 3pm for the public to come along to find out how we can support individuals and their families. There’ll be hot drinks and awareness freebies at our Pontypridd office opposite the bus station.

We can offer: ongoing support and recognition; swapping existing and developing new skills; the chance to meet new people; the opportunity to help shape our programme and alcohol awareness training. This could include: befriending in the community; helping plan and run group activities or co-delivery of our group work sessions.
