About the charity
Situated in Llanharan within the county borough area of Rhondda Cynon Taff, Brynawel Rehab is the leading residential centre for the treatment of alcohol and drug dependencies in Wales delivering evidence based interventions primarily as part of a residential treatment programme. Our mission is to be a centre of excellence in the provision of high quality professional support and assistance for people experiencing alcohol or other drug dependency issues. We strongly believe that anyone can recover from such addictions with the right support.
About the role
Due to the current Chair reaching the end of his term of office, Brynawel Rehab are looking to appoint an exceptional individual who will bring passion and commitment, as well as skills and experience to the Board. The Chair will hold the Board and Executive Team to account for the Charity’s mission and vision, providing inclusive leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring that each trustee fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity. The Chair will also support, and where appropriate, challenge the Chief Executive and ensure that the Board and Executive work collaboratively to achieve agreed objectives and aims of the charity.
With considerable experience of operating at a strategic leadership level, you will also have Board level experience and knowledge of charity governance. Above all, you must demonstrate a strong and visible passion for the cause and have the skills and experience necessary to lead the organisation in a challenging financial environment.
