Who cares for carers?
Thursday, 21 February 2019 | 4:00pm
A discussion about the rights and protections that exist for those with caring responsibilities.
We’d be delighted if you’d join us for the first in our series of interactive seminars to be held in our Cardiff office.
We’ll be focusing on caring responsibilities including:
• the people that care
• the challenges they face
• the legal solutions that might be available to them
• those situations where more help is needed
New research by Carers UK reveals that 2.6 million people have quit their job to care for a loved one who’s older, disabled or seriously ill, with nearly half a million (468,000) leaving their job in the last two years alone – more than 600 people a day.
James Watkins and Charlene Davies-Williams will introduce issues pertinent to those with an interest in how carers manage work and their personal affairs, including issues such as discrimination by association and lasting powers of attorney. The discussion will reference a case study where guests can exchange ideas on topics relevant to carers and those dependent on them for care.
Registration is from 3.45pm, with the discussion starting at 4.00pm and closing at 5.00pm with refreshments. To book your place please contact events@slatergordon.co.uk
We look forward to seeing you there.
