New survey to gather evidence on the experiences of people who are deaf or have hearing loss who need social care and support. Action on Hearing Loss want people to tell them about their experiences so they can better understand the issues people face and how services can be improved.
The findings of this survey will be used to develop new guidance for local authorities in Wales on delivering high-quality adult social services for people who are deaf of have hearing loss. Once completed, they’re hopeful that this guidance will help address some of the main challenges facing people who are deaf or have hearing loss who need social care and support, such as the lack of accessible contact options, poor deaf awareness amongst social service staff and variations in the availability and quality of assistive equipment.
