We are very excited that we can get the chance to say a huge thank you to the incredible volunteers that have provided so much kindness in every street and in every community in RCT. Here is your chance to say Thank You during Volunteers Week 1-7th June. We need your help with our local RCT campaign #volunteeringismybag – if you would like to thank anyone from your local community – individual or group, get involved by either:
- Sending us a photograph of you saying thank you (Hold up a sign or a heart, make it as interesting as you want!)
- Make a short 20 second video including the following:
- organisation/person name
- why you think they are amazing
Organisations arranging local events during Volunteers’ Week are encouraged to register their activities on the official Volunteers’ Week website. Share your stories with #VolunteersWeek #volunteeringismybag
You don’t have much time! Please email email@example.com with your photographs or videos by Thursday 28th May 5pm.
We will want to capture what everyone is doing over the coming weeks, so if you miss the deadline, please continue sending us you photographs and messages after the deadline.
What are you planning in Volunteers Week? Can we help?
Let us know what you are doing so we can share and celebrate alongside you – please share with us on our social media pages or email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01443 846200.
MORE WAYS TO SAY THANK YOU – HELP US TO RAISE FUNDS FOR VOLUNTEERS
We NEED YOUR HELP, we cannot do it on our own – you are the expert fundraisers not us! Interlink wants your help to continue to provide essential funds to support volunteer-led community groups supporting people through Covid-19. This covers items such as PPE, volunteer expenses and family activity packs. Having exceeded our initial £1,000 target, we need further people to work with us to help fundraise. Thank-you for all your support, it is deeply appreciated by everyone at Interlink. Every little bit helps! JOIN THE CAMPAIGN

You must be already working with older people in one or both of our two priority areas – older people living in particularly complex and challenging situations and older people in danger of being out of sight and out of mind. You must know what you want to do – or do better – to help make an immediate difference to their lives over the next six months. Organisations that do not specialise in work with older people are welcome to apply if you are already providing services for older people as part of your work.
Things are continuing to change quickly, and we can look forward to a further easing of lockdown. However, many more people have been added to the vulnerable category (‘the shielded list’) and will require longer-term kindness and for our volunteers and local groups to continue their invaluable support.
There may be an increase in demand for support as people who are identified to self-isolate through Test, Track, Protect. See what Council and WLGA Leader Cllr Andrew Morgan has to say Visit Here.
Keep safe and (continue to) be kind.
