Barod are pleased to launch the 2nd edition of the Mike Parry Art Award. Mike was a popular worker at Barod, who sadly passed away in January last year. Mike was both an enthusiastic yet very talented artist (and teacher) and subsequently this competition was set up in his name and was only fitting for such a competition to be established to carry on his legacy. As the first edition of this competition was so successful last year, we are delighted to announce its return.
The 2020 competition is now live and is calling on anyone who has accessed substance misuse services past or present, throughout Wales, to submit a piece for the competition. The theme this year is ‘Life in Lockdown: Art in Isolation’. This theme will capture what people’s experience of the coronavirus lockdown has been.
This year there are three categories – Young People (Under 18s); Adults; and Group. All entries need to be submitted by 30th September.
All the information about this year’s competition including how to enter, T&C’s and entry criteria, can be found on our website https://barod.cymru/mike-parry-art-award-2020/
We will be promoting the 2020 Mike Parry Art Award via all our social media channels this morning. So please pass on to your colleagues and those you may support, if they have accessed any substance misuse services past or present, if you feel they would be interested.
