The Cwm Taf Safeguarding Childrens’ Board is responsible for safeguarding all children and young people in RCT. However, we all have a responsibility for ensuring that children and young people are protected.
All staff and individuals who come into contact with children, or young people and/or their families as part of their work should be alert to possible signs of child abuse and should know how to refer to the Children’s Services Division.
Your job may not deal directly with child protection, however, you will probably have contact with children or young people and families.
Below is a list of the latest guidance, tools and protocols that may be relevant to your organisation. All these have been endorsed by the Cwm Taf Safeguarding Children’s Board.
- All of us who come into contact with children and young people in our work have a legal duty for safeguarding and protecting them.
- Section 23(2) of the Children Act 2004.
